MARIANNA, Fla. – Farm Credit of Northwest Florida (FCNWFL) announced a total of $19,000 awarded to six organizations that align with Farm Credit’s mission to making a positive impact in their local community. FCNWFL is proud to support these organizations by matching employee donations dollar-for-dollar and empower employees to nominate causes meaningful to them.
Second Harvest of the Big Bend, one of the Association’s flagship charities, was among the recipients. Based in Tallahassee, Florida, Second Harvest of The Big Bend provides healthy food to neighbors facing hunger and food insecurity across 16 counties in the Big Bend region. As the region's primary source for charitable food, they distribute nutritious food to over 150 smaller frontline agency partners, including emergency food pantries, homeless shelters, schools, churches, and community centers.
“We are incredibly proud to support Second Harvest of the Big Bend,” said Farm Credit of Northwest Florida’s Emily Lowe. “Their commitment to providing nutritious food to those facing food insecurity in our community is incredible.”
Other organizations included in this year’s Rooted in Giving donations were Feeding the Gulf Coast, Project Narrow Way, Panhandle Warrior Partnership, Innovative Charities of Northwest Florida, and WNC Communities Foundation.
This season’s Rooted in Giving donations marked the 10th anniversary of the program, with more than $130,000 donated to assist students and organizations making Northwest Florida an even better place to live.
“I am proud of our employees, whose generous donations, matched by Farm Credit of Northwest Florida, enable us to provide these staff-nominated awards to deserving recipients” said Farm Credit of Northwest Florida CEO John Gregory.

We offer rural-friendly loan products for agriculture and related businesses, including the timber industry, and people who want to purchase or improve rural land or homes.
We care about our communities and are Rooted in Giving. The profits earned from doing business with our members return to their communities to promote and protect agriculture and our rural way of life.
