Farm Credit of Northwest Florida and CoBank Make Donation of $40,000 for Disaster Recovery

12/31/2018

Marianna, FL – After Hurricane Michael left a devastating path with destruction to farms, homes, timber and business operations in the Florida panhandle this October, Farm Credit of Northwest Florida made donations of $5,000 to organizations aiding in disaster recovery to the impacted communities.  These organizations include Convoy of Hope, Rivertown Community Church, Florida Baptist Convention, and Sunrise Worship Center.

CoBank, a cooperative bank serving agribusinesses, rural infrastructure providers and Farm Credit Associations, created a $150,000 fund to match the contributions of its customers to support hurricane relief efforts. Together, Farm Credit of Northwest Florida and CoBank contributed a total of $40,000 to support the devastated communities.

Each of these organizations worked immediately following Hurricane Michael to provide services and supplies to the rural communities affected by the storm. By partnering with them in this effort, we are able to fulfill the Farm Credit mission of standing by our member borrowers.  We are here to help turn life’s goals back into accomplishments.
